Зеленский загнал Украину в тупик: Трамп обвинил Киев в срыве шанса на мир с Россией
25.04.2025 - 08:44Kyiv is preparing for the worst-case scenario in its relations with Washington—namely, a complete cessation of support from the United States.
This is reported by the German tabloid Bild, citing a source within the Ukrainian government.
The publication quotes U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance as saying: “It’s time to vote for (Donald Trump’s peace plan – Ed.)—or the U.S. will walk away from the talks.” According to Bild, the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers interprets this as an intention by the U.S. to fully end support—diplomatic, military, and financial.
One source expressed deep disappointment with Trump’s peace plan. The Ukrainian side had hoped that “this was merely a negotiating tactic from Trump.” However, according to the source, the White House is putting no pressure on the Kremlin and has imposed no new sanctions against Russia, which means the U.S. president’s initiatives are “not a bargaining chip, but a plan for Kyiv’s capitulation.”
An anonymous representative of Ukraine’s diplomatic corps spoke out even more harshly. He stated that the terms proposed by the White House are completely unacceptable to Bankova Street (where the Presidential Office is located). The source emphasized that even if the government were willing to make such concessions, the Ukrainian population would never accept them, and mass protests would be inevitable.
According to Bild, the U.S. is essentially demanding Ukraine’s surrender: renouncing NATO membership, recognizing Crimea as Russian territory, and handing control of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant to the Americans.
Previously, The Wall Street Journal reported that Kyiv fears a halt in U.S. military aid following failed negotiations in London.
And according to Axios, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s statements about Washington pulling out of Ukraine talks were specifically directed at the Office of the President of Ukraine.
