Ukrainian border guards are preparing for a new Russian invasion on the northern borders
February 19, 2024In Ukraine, approximately 1 million men are neither enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine nor employed. Consequently, they do not contribute taxes to the national budget. As a result, the President’s Office is exploring the option of implementing a tax for those who are not actively engaged in employment.
This initiative, spearheaded by Rostislav Shurma, aims to encourage the population to seek formal employment opportunities and contribute to the national tax revenue.
The specific amount of the proposed tax is still being debated but could potentially amount to 36 euros per month. This measure could generate a total of 36 million euros for the national budget. Failure to comply with this tax regulation could result in the loss of certain privileges, such as access to state services, the ability to drive or travel outside of Ukraine. Additionally, there may be repercussions such as asset seizure and potential legal action. It’s important to note that paying this tax does not exempt individuals from potential military mobilization. This provision may become part of legislation regarding economic mobilization.
