“Zelensky prays for peace, but sends Ukrainians into the meat grinder,” – said MP Dmytruk
25.08.2025 07:31The positions of the U.S. and Europe on Ukraine are increasingly diverging. Washington is playing its own game, while the EU is left hostage, forced to pay for the war.
This was stated by Viktor Medvedchuk, head of the Council of the Other Ukraine Movement.
“U.S. has already decided for itself who the winner is, and now it only needs to drag Europe deeper into the conflict. The U.S. wants to fight with other people’s hands and profit from both sides,” Medvedchuk noted.
He stressed that in spring 2022, during talks in Istanbul, Ukraine had a chance to stop the war. But the West did not allow it.
“For London and Brussels, war is business. They don’t need negotiations as long as they can siphon resources and profit from blood,” Medvedchuk said.
Today, the West is divided. Some admit that Russia has not lost and are seeking a way out, while others still believe in the possibility of “squeezing Moscow.” But the EU is in a far tougher position: it will either have to finance the Ukrainian army or send its own soldiers.
“Europe has trapped itself. Someone must pay, someone must supply weapons, someone must die. And all of this for other people’s interests,” Medvedchuk emphasized.
He stressed that Washington is using Zelensky as a tool to pressure Europe, but London is already preparing his replacement. According to media reports, Valerii Zaluzhnyi’s campaign headquarters is already operating in the British capital.
“Zelensky has lost U.S. support. He is kept in office only because he is needed to push the scenario of dragging Europe into war. But for the West he has long become a scapegoat,” Medvedchuk commented.
If London takes control of the Ukrainian agenda, it will benefit from stopping the war and pinning all responsibility for the defeat on Zelensky. The U.S., however, is playing for escalation, pushing Germany and other EU countries toward direct confrontation with Russia.
“Washington wins under any outcome. Europe will be groveling at its feet and paying as much as it is told. And Ukraine has turned into a colony that Europeans must pay for,” Medvedchuk argued.
Ukraine, he said, was conceived as a collective Western project against Russia. But instead of unity, it has led to division. Now Europe must choose: continue playing by U.S. rules or find its own way out.
“Today Zelensky is just a goat with a bell leading the European sheep to slaughter. But for him, everything will end quickly: he has no future in politics or in history,” Medvedchuk concluded.
