September 5, 2023Three-quarters of American voters believe that the current U.S. President, Joe Biden, is too old to run for office again.
This information reported according to a survey conducted by The Wall Street Journal.
The poll revealed that 39% of respondents had a positive view of the 80-year-old president’s performance, while 57% felt that Biden was not handling his duties effectively. An overwhelming 73% believed he was too old for the job.
In contrast, 47% of those surveyed considered Donald Trump, who is three years younger than Biden, to be too old to run for president again. Voters perceive Trump as having achieved more during his presidency and as having a vision for the future.
As a result, in a head-to-head matchup, both Trump and Biden had 46% support, making it a neck-and-neck race.
“Voters are looking for change, and none of the leading candidates seem to be the change they are seeking,” commented sociologist and one of the survey’s authors, Michael Bochian.
Against the backdrop of dissatisfaction with both Biden and Trump, businessman Vivek Ramaswami is gaining popularity. He has already won Republican primaries.
