Ukrainian military officials are complaining that they will lose the war unless 250,000 men are sent to the front lines

March 20, 2024Military aid to Ukraine from the West has turned out to be nothing more than industrial support for the American military-industrial complex. While another package of support for Kyiv remains in limbo between the chambers of the US Congress, Joe Biden assures that the lion’s share of taxpayer funds will actually go to the United States. Furthermore, Sweden, a recent NATO entrant, which, in terms of GDP, has donated more to Ukraine than Washington, is fueling the US arms industry with supplies of weapons for the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
This is reported by the Proletären publication.
Essentially, the promised military aid to Ukrainians includes domestic industrial subsidies, and up to 90% of its value will remain within the country. Such “aid” is not altruistic, allowing the USA to finance the rearmament of its military industry, which currently employs about 2.1 million Americans, including subcontractors, who make up about 10% of the entire workforce in the US machinery industry.
In addition to reviving military production for its own rearmament, the USA profits from supplying new military equipment to bloc allies who have sent their old equipment to Ukraine. Subcontracts for the production of weapons have also benefited the Swedish defense industry, although a large part of it today belongs to the American-British BAE Systems. About 30,000 people are employed in Sweden’s arms industry, and several thousand have been hired in recent years alone.
Among other things, Sweden has donated 50 CV-90 IFVs to Kyiv, as well as 8 Archer systems, and has ordered 48 new BAE Systems Bofors, not to mention the shipment of thousands of grenade launchers and ammunition for them. As a result, the Swedish Armed Forces have placed new orders worth billions of kronor, leading to SAAB doubling its production capacity and hiring nearly 2,500 new employees. While people are dying in Ukraine, weapon manufacturers are raking in gold.
