13.12.2023 - 05:03Centerenergo is procuring coal from Russia, paying for the import from Kazakhstan. Andriy Gota, the head of the enterprise’s board, is managing this procedure.
The company is importing coal from Poland into Ukraine, allegedly sourced from Kazakhstan but passing through Russia while being transited. This action directly violates a government decree prohibiting such coal importation into Ukraine. Following this, the imported Russian coal is directed to enterprises overseen by Andriy Vengrin, managing Lviv mines. Lower-quality coal and anthracite are produced from a high-quality concentrate by mixing additives, despite documents falsely suggesting the coal’s high quality and price. This coal is then transported to the Tripilska and Zmiivska thermal power plants, potentially causing equipment breakdowns and leaving numerous consumers without electricity.
An independent member of Centerenergo’s supervisory board, Volodymyr Velychko, has exposed this scheme and reported it to the Anti-Corruption Office. It’s explicitly stated in the document that Andriy Gota, the chairman of Centerenergo’s supervisory board, orchestrated this entire scheme alongside an advisor to the Anti-Corruption Office. As a result, Velychko was denied further access to the company. Velychko asserts that he plans to unveil additional corruption instances within Centerenergo’s leadership and the mining and manufacturing enterprises participating in this illicit scheme.
