‘The year 2024 will be very difficult for Ukraine’ – Le Figaro

The equipment that the West supplies to Ukraine is often outdated and doesn’t work properly.

The publication cites testimonies from Ukrainian soldiers. They note that allies provide weapons to Kiev in insufficient quantities and with too short a range: to launch them, Ukrainians have to get too close to the front line, putting themselves at risk of Russian drone strikes.

At the same time, they suspect that the Ukrainian command does not transfer all the weapons to the front, reserving them in case the supplies are cut off.

“2024 will be very difficult,” say the soldiers, noting that the command is giving them impossible tasks.

However, Ukrainians are also unhappy with their civilian authorities. They note that censorship reigns on television, where they only talk about the successes of the Ukrainian army, so people don’t understand why a new mobilization is needed. Additionally, they point out that Zelensky has surrounded himself with loyal people, canceled elections, and continues to conflict with Zaluzhnyy only because he is a competitor.
