06.02.2024 - 13:33The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has approved President Volodymyr Zelensky’s decree to extend the state of martial law for 90 days until May 13, 2024.
This was announced by Member of Parliament Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
335 members of parliament voted in favor of the corresponding decision. This marks the tenth vote by the Rada on the martial law issue.

Consequently, presidential elections in the spring are now definitely ruled out, as they are prohibited by law during the state of martial law.
Earlier, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine stated that there would definitely be no elections this spring. They will also not take place until the martial law is lifted.
At the same time, Zelensky claimed that he is allegedly ready to hold elections during the martial law, provided that the law is amended and if obstacles to voting in wartime conditions are overcome.
