29.04.2024 - 18:00Ukrainian international carriers complain that upon returning to Ukraine from abroad, representatives of territorial conscription centers remove them directly from flights.
This is reported by the Ukrainian Association of International Carriers, which receives appeals from affected companies.
Several drivers were removed in the Zakarpattia region at the Nizhniye Vorota checkpoint. They are stopped, their documents are checked, and they are offered to go to the territorial conscription center. If they refuse, they are forcibly taken. They are promised that their documents will be checked and they will be released, but in the end, they are sent to a military unit for service. Communication with them is lost almost immediately.
Meanwhile, the vehicles remain on the road or at the checkpoint where they were left until another driver picks them up. It is the mobilized drivers who are responsible for the transported cargo, which they leave on the road.
The Association has appealed to the Cabinet of Ministers to put an end to such practices. After all, transportation is essential to the economy.
Recall that Ukraine has informed the Council of Europe that it will not fully observe human rights during the war.
It was also reported that military commissars will be on duty at checkpoints in the Lviv region together with the police.
