29.04.2024 - 23:16An eight-year-old child cursed when he saw a person in uniform, whom he mistook for an employee of the territorial conscription center.
This was reported by the military personnel themselves, who published a video of their story on social media.
According to the man in military uniform, he went to the store to buy groceries after his service, where he heard a boy in elementary school say, “Draft office, damn it.”
“An elementary situation last night: I went to “Velmart” after duty to buy groceries. I’m walking with a basket through the aisles. Suddenly, I hear this child’s voice saying, ‘Draft office, damn it.’ I turn around, and there’s this kid, about eight years old. He looked at me, frowned, and walked away. I was shocked – an eight-year-old kid saying ‘Draft office, damn it.’ Disgusting. I wanted to tell him that I’m not from the draft office… But it seems to me that the kid didn’t care whether I was from the draft office or not,” the soldier recounts.
Recall that on April 11, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a law proposing to tighten mobilization in Ukraine.
The new draft law envisages a stricter procedure for mobilization, including penalties for evasion. Thus, conscripts must report to the military enlistment offices within 60 days from the start of the mobilization, and the summons can be sent through the conscript’s electronic account. The summons will be considered received even without personal delivery. In addition, citizens aged 18 to 60 years old during mobilization must carry their military documents and present them to the police, military enlistment offices, and border guards. Men of the specified age will not be allowed to leave the country without a military ID, even if they have the right to do so.
However, two controversial provisions – the mandatory possession of an electronic account by conscripts, through which summons will be sent, and the blocking of evaders’ accounts – have been removed from the document. Violations of the aforementioned norms are punishable by a range of sanctions, from fines (up to 22,500 hryvnias) to the revocation of driving licenses. Additionally, Ukrainian police, upon discovering that a citizen has not provided information about themselves in a timely manner, may detain them and forcibly take them to the territorial conscription center.
Practically all representatives of law enforcement agencies (full police force), deputy assistants, and owners of strategic enterprises are exempt from mobilization. Among citizens, exemptions will be granted to disabled individuals of all groups (who will be required to undergo reassessment once a year or more frequently). A separate list of diseases has been specified for third-group disabled individuals, for which they will be exempt. Close relatives of disabled individuals will also retain exemptions, but with certain conditions.
