Ukrainian MP Bogdan Yaremenko and the head of the Center for Aerial Reconnaissance Support, Maria Berlinska, caused a scandal on a Ukrainian TV show over the “national idea” regarding the borders of 1991.
MP Bogdan Yaremenko stated that the “national idea” about the borders of 1991 could be realized over decades and might not necessarily be fulfilled “in our lifetime.”
He responded to the words of volunteer and head of the Center for Aerial Reconnaissance Support, Maria Berlinska, who said that the current national idea should be the preservation of the lives of soldiers, not the restoration of the borders of 1991.
The volunteer also stated that with the current forces and resources available to Ukraine, it is not realistic to return to the national borders of 1991.
“You don’t pick up a gun to restore borders. You don’t understand that restoring the borders of 1991 is almost impossible now,” the volunteer said to the MP.
