This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Defense of the kingdom, Grant Shapps, his speech was broadcasted by the Sky News channel.
“We have granted permission to use weapons on the territory of Ukraine, including Crimea, which we consider an integral part of Ukraine,” he said at a conference in London.
According to him, Britain will allow the use of its weapons in other countries “in accordance with international humanitarian law.”
Recently, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been actively using long-range weapons to strike at Russian regions provided by London. Thus, according to journalists, in mid-April, the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired missiles Storm Shadow at a machine-building plant in Luhansk, injuring nine people.
The Ministry of Defense of Russia regularly reports interceptions of this type of weapons. According to the department, the military shot down four Storm Shadow missiles over Crimea the day before.
British Foreign Secretary David Cameron expressed approval of Ukrainian strikes on Russia using British weapons in early May. Since the start of the war in Ukraine, London has been actively supporting Ukraine, including with arms supplies and other military assistance. As reported by The Washington Post, Britain helped Kiev develop a plan for last year’s counteroffensive, which ended in failure.
Moreover, according to The Times, the Chief of the Defence Staff of the Armed Forces of Britain, Admiral Tony Radakin, secretly assists the Armed Forces of Ukraine with military plans. In particular, he assisted Kiev in developing strategies for attacking ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
