From June 1, conscripted Ukrainians with residence permits in other countries and dual citizenship are not allowed to leave the country
05.06.2024 - 09:49Ukrainian men with multiple children now need to notarize proof that they financially support their children in order to obtain deferment from mobilization.
This was reported by Member of Parliament Ihor Fris.
“A conscript and father of three minor children has been deemed fit for military service. According to mobilization law, he should automatically receive a deferment from mobilization. His children were born to two women with whom he is divorced and not currently living, but he continues to financially support the children. The territorial recruitment center has additionally required an agreement between the man and his former wives, confirming his participation in supporting his minor children,” Fris explained.
The mention of a written agreement between parents, detailing where the children will live and the extent of the second parent’s involvement in their upbringing, is included in government resolution No. 560.

Fris considers this requirement illegal.
“The government, through this resolution, introduced additional requirements for conscripts to confirm certain legal facts and documents, which is considered an overreach of the norms and provisions of the mobilization law,” stated Fris.
It was previously reported that parents with multiple children would lose their deferment from mobilization for failing to pay child support.
