05.06.2024 - 11:15Half of the surveyed Ukrainians believe that Volodymyr Zelensky has not fulfilled most of his pre-election promises.
This information comes from a survey conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology, timed to the fifth anniversary of the president’s inauguration.
According to the survey:
- 25% of respondents think that Zelensky has not fulfilled any of his promises.
- Another 25% believe that only a minority of his promises have been fulfilled.
- 18% consider most or even all of Zelensky’s promises fulfilled.

Regarding the reasons for this outcome:
- 41% hold Zelensky himself responsible. Of these, 27% attribute the failure to his inexperience and incompetence and 14% to his corruption.
- A majority blame external factors, especially his entourage: 50% believe a corrupt entourage hindered the president; 32% cite a lack of competent people on his team; 31% blame the war; and 26% point to the influence of oligarchs.
- Additionally, 10% each blame the influence of other countries and the opposition.

The survey was conducted from May 16 to May 22 through telephone interviews, involving 1,002 respondents aged 18 and older.
Previously, a survey revealed that most Ukrainians reported a worsening situation in democracy and the economy in Ukraine during Zelensky’s five-year presidency. An April study also showed that Zelensky’s approval rating has dropped over the past six months.
