31.08.2024 - 20:52Russia will not engage in negotiations with Ukraine regarding territories in the Kursk region.
This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
“I am confident that there is nothing to discuss regarding the Kursk region. We do not negotiate our own territory with anyone,” the minister said.
He also added that Russia considers four regions—Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson—as its “own territory.” Lavrov mentioned that in June 2024, President Vladimir Putin proposed that Ukraine resolve the situation based on the “realities on the ground.”
It is worth noting that Russia’s ambassador to the United States, Anatoly Antonov, announced that Vladimir Putin had decided on “severe punishment” for the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ incursion into the Kursk region.
Earlier, Western media reported that Ukraine’s offensive in the Kursk region had disrupted secret negotiations between Kyiv and Moscow.
