Kremlin will pop champagne: The U.S. will abandon Europe regardless of the outcome of the presidential elections – Bloomberg
09.09.2024 23:36Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico stated that “Nazi troops” are fighting in Ukraine, but the international community is ignoring this.
Fico believes that the world is full of lies, claiming that, on one hand, the international community speaks about crimes, but on the other, it allegedly increasingly compromises the dignity of Holocaust victims and victims of racial violence.
“We all talk about fascism and Nazism, yet we silently tolerate the fact that troops are running around Ukraine with very clear symbols associated with movements that we consider dangerous and banned today. Since this is a geopolitical battle, no one seems to care,” Fico said.
“The international community must acknowledge that it is unacceptable for troops using Nazi symbols, who often behave accordingly, to fight in Ukraine,” added the Slovak prime minister.
In response, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Georgii Tykhyi commented that “Kyiv is disappointed” with Fico’s statement.
According to the Ukrainian diplomat, the Latin letter “Z,” under which the Kremlin is conducting its “special military operation” (SMO) in Ukraine, is “a symbol of fascist aesthetics in modern Russia.”
Tykhyi also reminded that “in the 20th century, the Ukrainian people suffered millions of losses in the fight against Nazism” and that “more than 2,600 Ukrainians have been listed among the Righteous Among the Nations for saving Jews during the Holocaust.”
The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not comment on Fico’s accusations against certain units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Earlier, Fico stated that Ukraine’s accession to NATO would lead to World War III. Following his party’s victory in Slovakia’s elections, Fico also remarked that there are “fascists” in the Ukrainian army.
