13.11.2024 15:49The authorities have decided to abandon the idea of economic exemptions from military service due to a negative public reaction.
This was stated by Bohdan Kitsak, a member of the “Sluga Naroda” party.
“This tool generates a huge negative reaction within Ukrainian society. To avoid additional tension, especially since there are many other topics causing social dissatisfaction—such as ‘busification’ and the treatment of territorial recruitment centers—a decision was made not to implement it, which is why this topic has disappeared from the public discourse,” Kitsak explained.
He added that Ukraine will need $39 billion for the next year to manage successfully, but this amount will be provided by various international organizations and institutions.
In early October, MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak from the “Holos” party, citing Deputy Minister of Economy Vitaliy Kondratov, reported that economic exemptions from military service would definitely be implemented, as the decision had already been made. However, another MP, Oleksandr Fediyenko from “Servant of the People,” refuted this information.
It is worth noting that there have been several attempts to submit bills on economic exemptions to the Verkhovna Rada.
