15.11.2024 - 19:00Future U.S. Attorney General Matt Gaetz suggested in the summer of 2023 that it would be better to bring Russia into NATO rather than Ukraine, in order to create an alliance against China.
He made this statement in a comment to Newsmax.
“If we had to choose whom to bring into NATO—Russia or Ukraine—why not expand NATO to include Russia and create an alliance against China? Do we really think we should be more afraid of broken Russian tanks than the fact that China is building a secret military base in Cuba, just 90 miles from the U.S.? If choosing whom to bring into NATO—Russia or Ukraine—it could be reasonably argued that Russia would offer more long-term benefit,” Gaetz said.
Previously, media reports indicated that U.S. Department of Justice officials were shocked by Donald Trump’s “bizarre” and “incredible” decision to nominate Matt Gaetz for the position of Attorney General.
It is worth noting that in February of last year, Gaetz introduced a resolution calling on President Joe Biden to cease providing aid to Ukraine.
