26.11.2024 05:03In Ukraine, 524 prosecutors hold the status of persons with disabilities.
This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General in response to a request from Member of Parliament Oleksiy Honcharenko.
According to the document:
- There are 831 people with disabilities working in the prosecutor’s office. Of these, 524 are prosecutors.
- The Office of the Prosecutor General employs 66 people with disabilities, 26 of whom are prosecutors.
- Three people with disabilities work in the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP), two of them being prosecutors.
- In regional and district prosecutor’s offices, 762 people with disabilities are employed, with 496 of them being prosecutors.
- Eight first deputy and deputy heads of regional prosecutor’s offices have the status of persons with disabilities.
It is worth recalling that following the scandal involving prosecutors with disabilities, Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin resigned.
Media also reported that after the scandal surrounding the MSEC (Medical and Social Expert Commission) in Khmelnytskyi region, more than fifty prosecutors with disabilities were found in Cherkasy region.
According to official information, 60 local prosecutors have the status of persons with disabilities. This accounts for 27.4% of the total number of prosecuting judicial representatives working in the region. Fifty-nine of them had received their disability status before Russia’s invasion in 2022.
