The Ukrainian Armed Forces admitted that recruitment center staff are checking documents of all men aged 18 and older
09.01.2025 - 13:36The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the National Police have detained a married couple of Russian agents who manufactured the explosive device used in the December terrorist attack near the recruitment center in Dnipro.
This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.
It should be noted that a suspected perpetrator was previously arrested in connection with this case.
According to the investigation, the explosive device was made by a “33-year-old deserter who had illegally left his Ukrainian military unit and was hiding in Dnipro, along with his 25-year-old wife.”
They were reportedly recruited by Russia online and, following instructions, placed the explosive device in a designated cache. To avoid suspicion, they moved around with their 3-year-old child and later changed their rented apartment.
“Law enforcement officers detained both perpetrators at their new residence. During a search, mobile phones, incriminating clothing, and Russian instructions for making IEDs were seized,” the report said.
All three suspects are in custody and face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
As a reminder, the explosion near the recruitment center on December 14 resulted in one fatality and several serious injuries, including to two police officers. All three arrested individuals face life imprisonment.
