10.01.2025 - 13:54In the Kursk region, Russian forces have captured four settlements.
This is according to information from the military public platform Deep State.
Last Sunday, Ukraine controlled 482 square kilometers of the Russian region. By this morning, the control area has decreased to 424 square kilometers. The Russians have taken Novoivanovka, Leonidovo, Alexandriya, and Kruglenkoye.
For several days now, there have been no reports of offensive actions by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) in the Kursk region. On Sunday, the Ukrainian army conducted attacks on the village of Berdin, which, according to Russian claims, were all repelled. The Deep State map also does not show any increase in the UAF control zone in this area.
However, several Russian sources still believe that the Ukrainian army is preparing an offensive in another direction, moving reserves into the Sumy and Kursk regions.
There are two main directions for potential strikes:
- A counteroffensive towards Malaya Loknya (from the west) and Russkoye Porochno/Cherkasskoye Porochno (from the east) to cut off the northern salient of the UAF bridgehead. Battles are currently ongoing in this area for the village of Pogrebki.
- An advance from the southeast towards Sudzha, the largest settlement controlled by the UAF in the Kursk region. Here, fighting is currently focused on Makhnovka.
Earlier, Deep State reported that the Russian army had advanced from the western edge of the Ukrainian bridgehead in the Kursk region.
