13.01.2025 - 07:13In Odesa, the controversy over the demolition of monuments dedicated to figures of Russian culture continues.
Local Telegram channels have shared footage of these events.
Today, a previously announced protest against the removal of a monument to singer and poet Vladimir Vysotsky took place, despite the organizer being summoned by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) the day before.
Additionally, Odesa native and former host of the TV show *Oryol i Reshka*, Mykola Serga, who volunteered to join the Ukrainian Armed Forces after Russia’s 2022 invasion, recorded a message urging people to stop waging war against monuments and Russian culture.
However, Oleg Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, responded sharply to these appeals, suggesting that those opposing the removal of such monuments should move to Russian cities like Ufa or Krasnoyarsk.
Earlier, Member of Parliament Yuriy Boyko criticized the demolition of monuments, renaming efforts, and attacks on the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) and the Russian language in Ukraine.
