“Need a minivan 8+1”: in Odesa, recruitment center staff are ordering taxis for street mobilization efforts
13.01.2025 - 13:32Mobilization in Ukraine “Completely Failed,” and the situation in the rear resembles a “wonderland”.
This statement was made by the commander of the UAV systems battalion of the 30th Mechanized Brigade, known by the callsign “Prosecutor.”
He did not specify why he believes the mobilization effort has failed.
“I’ll be honest with you: those who return here from leave come back with a more positive attitude than when they leave,” the military officer said.
According to him, about 90% of the personnel in his battalion are mobilized, and they are “absolutely motivated” because the army strives to treat them with respect.
“But there are very demotivating things happening—we call it a ‘Wonderland’—beyond 50 kilometers from the frontline. It’s things like gyms full of over-pumped bodybuilders and youngsters blocking traffic in Kyiv while listening to Russian music. And it goes on and on,” Prosecutor said.
Earlier, Mike Waltz, the future National Security Advisor to U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, hinted that Ukrainian authorities should lower the conscription age. This demand had also been persistently pushed by the outgoing Joe Biden administration.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal stated that around 900,000–950,000 individuals in Ukraine are exempt from mobilization.
