The former head of the Kyiv Metro left Ukraine based on a fake conclusion from a military medical commission.
This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv National Police.
“By decision of the medical commission, the man was removed from military registration due to an allegedly incurable illness,” the statement reads.
A criminal case has been opened, and investigators from the capital’s police are conducting searches in the offices of the enterprise as part of the investigation.
According to media reports, the individual in question is Viktor Braginsky, who resigned following a journalistic investigation into his potential corruption and also gave up his mandate as a deputy of the Kyiv City Council.
In November, Braginsky was charged in connection with last year’s flooding of a tunnel on the blue line. The enterprise’s management had been concealing for several years the critical condition of the metro section between the “Demiivska” and “Lybidska” stations and failed to carry out repairs.
The charges were sent to his official registered addresses, as he failed to respond to summonses.
