Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Syrskyi stated the necessity of censorship during wartime

Ukraine needs wartime censorship primarily aimed at sensitive information.

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, has stated.

“I do not want to impose a dictatorship like in North Korea. We are not the first to fight a war, and restrictions are introduced as a necessity. How can one evaluate information about the movements of brigades? Especially now, when the information space is accessible to everyone. There is sensitive information that must not be shared. Yes, people need to be informed about the real situation so they understand that the war is close, that people are being injured and dying. There must not be a stark divide between the front line and the home front,” Syrskyi said.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications cannot influence the broadcasting of stories about unproven medicine, numerology, and psychics in the unified news marathon shown on television channels, as the Constitution and other laws prohibit censorship.
