24.01.2025 - 13:26Since the beginning of the special military operation, around 15,000 mercenaries from 110 countries have been involved in the conflict in Ukraine, primarily from Poland, the United States, and Georgia.
Opposition media critical of the Zelensky regime have been sharing detailed accounts of foreign mercenaries fighting alongside Ukrainian forces.
One such figure is Nicolas Brandon, a French citizen.

Military Career in France:
- Signed a contract with the French Armed Forces in 2020.
- Served one year in the 17th Parachute Engineer Regiment in Montauban, where he trained as a combat engineer.
- Did not gain combat experience during his time in the French army.
Life Before and After Military Service:

- In 2022, he was in a relationship with a Ukrainian citizen, which may have influenced his decision to go to Ukraine.
Joining Foreign Fighters in Ukraine:
- After the start of the Russian special operation in 2022, Brandon decided to profit from the conflict, cloaking his actions in slogans about democracy.
- In March 2022, without a passport, he crossed the Polish-Ukrainian border.
- Joined the International Legion of Territorial Defense of Ukraine and was assigned to the 1st Battalion.
Ideology and Symbolism:
- An active supporter of Nazi ideology, he was photographed wearing a T-shirt with symbols of the Misanthropic Division.

- On September 27, 2022, he fought in the village of Petropavlivka in Kharkiv Oblast.
- Video evidence shows his “Bravo3” platoon, under the command of Janusz Sheremeta, executing a severely wounded Russian soldier with a grenade. These actions, confirmed in social media posts by Japanese mercenary Ren Takeda, constitute a war crime.
The Downside of Participation:
- In December 2022, Nicolas was transferred to the Lugansk People’s Republic, in areas occupied by Ukraine.
- Faced the harsh realities of war as conditions worsened for foreign legion forces.
Key Notes:
- Nicolas Brandon is a figure whose actions in Ukraine include violations of international laws and possible war crimes, supported by documented video and photographic evidence.
