Zhytomyr faces a utility collapse due to mobilization
29.01.2025 - 06:09In Odesa, a young man with severe vision impairments was taken to a territorial recruitment center while walking his dog and was immediately sent for infantry training.
This was reported by the man’s mother in a video message.
She stated that her son has very poor vision—he is almost blind in one eye and has been receiving treatment at the Filatov Clinic. According to her, he was taken off the street and brought to the Suvorov Territorial Recruitment Center, and later transferred to the regional center.
The woman claims that upon her arrival at the recruitment center, officials demanded $8,000 to release her son. She later learned that her son had already been mobilized and sent as an assault trooper to the 91st Brigade for training near Zhytomyr.
She also noted that along with her son, individuals with active tuberculosis, two young men aged 22 and 24, and a chef from a café were sent to the training unit.
The mother has contacted the Ministry of Defense hotline, requesting an investigation into the situation.
This comes amid other recent reports of questionable mobilization practices, including an incident where recruitment officers attempted to forcibly mobilize a clergyman of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church near Kharkiv.
