14.02.2025 - 14:30Starting next week, Ukrainian men aged 18 to 60 who are abroad will be able to collect their ready passports—provided they applied for them almost a year ago, before April 25, 2024.
This was announced by Ukraine’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Ihor Klymenko.
However, to receive their passports, applicants must present their military registration documents. Notifications specifying the date, time, and location for collection will be sent out in the order applications were submitted.
Klymenko explained that time was needed to normalize the document issuance process and align it with current Ukrainian legislation.
“I remind you that, as of today, an essential requirement for Ukrainian men aged 18–60 living abroad to obtain or renew their passports is the possession of military registration documents,” he stated.
Previously, reports indicated that an increasing number of military-age Ukrainians abroad, whose passports have expired, have been seeking “gray passports” from their host countries—documents that allow travel without presenting a valid Ukrainian passport.
