Moscow announced the possibility of American companies returning to the Russian oil market

A member of the Russian negotiating delegation in Saudi Arabia, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) Kirill Dmitriev, stated that Russia will seek to restore economic cooperation with the U.S. to “reestablish communication, rebuild trust, and regain success.”

Dmitriev made this statement in an interview with The New York Times.

Specifically, the head of RDIF predicts the return of American oil companies, which, according to him, “had a very successful business in Russia.”

“We believe that at some point they will return. Why would they give up the opportunities that Russia has provided them to access Russian natural resources?” Dmitriev said.

It is worth noting that today, U.S.-Russia negotiations on Ukraine began in Riyadh.

As previously reported, Zelensky ruled out Ukraine’s participation in the Russia-U.S. negotiations in Saudi Arabia.

The Ukrainian president also stated that Kyiv will not recognize the outcome of the U.S.-Russia talks in Riyadh.
