The head of the Pentagon “shocked” Ukrainian officials by announcing a reduction of U.S. troops in Europe – NBC News
20.02.2025 - 12:07Elon Musk, the head of the U.S. Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), has demanded that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky hold elections in territories controlled by Kyiv.
This was effectively stated in a post by the American billionaire on his social media platform X.
“Zelensky cannot claim to represent the will of the Ukrainian people until he restores press freedom and stops canceling elections,” Musk declared.
The businessman made this comment in response to a post by an X user who pointed out that elections were held in the United States during the Civil War (1861-65) and World War II (1939-45).
Earlier, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance stated that the necessity of holding elections in Ukraine is a key political stance of the United States.
“Zelensky is getting very bad advice, and I don’t know from whom. He is no longer dealing with Joe Biden and the Biden administration. He is dealing with Donald Trump and the Trump administration,” Vance said in an interview with The National Pulse.
It is worth noting that Musk previously claimed that Zelensky “should be thrilled about the idea of holding elections” following the Ukrainian leader’s statement that his approval rating was at 57%.
