The U.S. Secretary of State believes that Ukraine must cede territory in any peace agreement
10.03.2025 21:55The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump is considering Petro Poroshenko and Yulia Tymoshenko as possible successors to Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky.
This was reported by the German publication Bild.
According to the report, four representatives of the U.S. government have communicated with Ukraine’s former president Poroshenko and former prime minister Tymoshenko. Additionally, Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, the former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and current ambassador of the post-Soviet country to London, is also being considered as Zelensky’s replacement.
“I have never seen anything like this in nearly 35 years of my career (…) U.S. intelligence is being stopped for political reasons, in an attempt to force a partner like Ukraine to comply with the administration’s wishes,” stated former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) director John Brennan, as quoted by the publication.
Previously, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Zelensky’s approval rating was only four percent. The Ukrainian leader disagreed with Trump, pointing out that his actual rating reaches nearly 70 percent.
