Trump’s special representative Kellogg believes that the war in Ukraine is already on the verge of a ceasefire, but there is a condition
02.04.2025 18:09U.S. President Donald Trump is using his efforts to resolve the war in Ukraine as a way to “drive a wedge” between Russia and China.
This was stated by Republican Congressman Mark Green, Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, in an interview with Fox News.
“So I fully support President Trump driving a wedge between Russia and China, and I also fully support using relations with Russia to bring Iran under control. These are high-level foreign policy moves that, I believe, are currently happening in the White House, and we should, you know, appreciate them,” said Green.
Previously, Trump promised he would not interfere in the internal affairs of either Russia or China—something that, he claimed, could create a “less tense” atmosphere and open up opportunities for diplomacy within the Washington-Moscow-Beijing triangle.
Meanwhile, former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba shared the opinion that Trump genuinely believes he and Russia can accomplish many positive things together, and that he sees Russia as necessary. Kuleba added that Trump’s worldview includes deep respect and admiration for figures like Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, and a desire to engage with them on major global initiatives.
