Russian President Vladimir Putin did not specifically discuss the possibility of a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump during talks with Steve Witkoff, the U.S. President’s special envoy for the Middle East.

This was stated by Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.

“The topic of a meeting was not discussed in detail, because any such meeting, of course, must be thoroughly prepared,” Peskov said.

According to the Kremlin representative, Putin’s contacts with Witkoff have been extremely useful and effective, as they’ve created a much-needed channel for the two countries to exchange information directly.

On April 11, negotiations between Putin and Witkoff took place in St. Petersburg. The meeting was held at the Presidential Library.
