“This video is about absurdity”: MP calls military contract ad for young Ukrainians a direct deception

Promotional video promising two million Hryvnias for an army contract for 18–24-year-olds s a direct deception.

This was stated by Member of Parliament Yuriy Kamelchuk.

According to him, the money is not paid out immediately, but in installments, and only if you survive until the end of the contract.

“This video is absurd. I’m sure they spent money on sociological research, on some kind of ad campaign that told them it should be filmed this way and worded like this. But I would like to see where the example is — the one young people are supposed to look up to,” said Kamelchuk.

As a reminder, the “Army.TV” channel, which is owned by Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense, released a recruitment video promoting military contracts for young men aged 18 to 24.

In the video, a young woman delivers a sarcastic monologue, mocking those who refuse to sign the so-called “youth contract.”

Previously, the Ministry of Defense tried to motivate young men to join the front lines with cheeseburgers.

It has also promoted “youth contracts” with the Ukrainian Armed Forces using recruitment videos that heavily emphasize the potential to earn large sums of money.
