The wife of Ukraine’s Prime Minister Shmyhal uses a premium car that is not listed in the declaration

The wife of Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal is using a luxury vehicle that is not listed in the official asset declaration of the head of government.

According to the investigation, Kateryna Shmyhal purchased a 2022 Range Rover Sport, registering it under her newly established company “KADiS UA,” which is publicly listed in open registries as belonging to the prime minister’s wife. Just prior to this, she sold her 2016 Range Rover Sport for $84,500.

The new SUV was spotted near the Shmyhal family’s residence in Lviv. Although the company through which the vehicle was purchased is listed in the prime minister’s declaration — the car itself is not, despite being used by his immediate family.

A strong indication that the Shmyhal family is indeed using the new vehicle comes from traffic fines. Last year, the recently acquired Range Rover Sport was caught speeding three times — each incident occurring near the family’s home in Lviv.

For context, the head of Ukraine’s State Customs Service is currently under investigation for failing to declare a $100,000 property.
