The U.S. National Security Advisor called Ukraine “one of the most corrupt countries in the world”

U.S. President Donald Trump’s National Security Adviser, Michael Waltz, stated that Ukraine remains “one of the most corrupt countries in the world,” even during wartime.

He made this remark during an interview with Fox News.

According to Waltz, strict oversight is necessary for any funds transferred to Kyiv.

“Ukraine was and remains one of the most corrupt countries in the world… Instead of trying to correct the president (during the White House meeting – Ed.), Zelensky could have sat side by side with him, signing a deal on mineral resources,” Waltz said.

He emphasized that Ukraine has already received “billions in aid,” but questioned whether the previous administration under former President Joe Biden had any real control over how Kyiv spent those funds.

It is worth noting that Ukraine once again faces a budget shortfall this year for military funding, putting soldiers’ salary payments at risk.
