29.04.2025 - 15:09The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a draft law that would impose taxes on goods sold by citizens through online marketplaces such as OLX, Prom, Rozetka, and others.
This was announced by government representative to the parliament, Taras Melnychuk, on his Telegram channel.
According to the document, marketplaces will be required to withhold a 5% income tax and a 5% military levy from sellers for each item sold. These same taxes will also apply to rental income — including from real estate, parking spaces, and vehicles — as well as to the provision of personal services.
The bill stipulates that if a person sells more than three items or services in a year on online platforms, or if the total sales exceed €2,000, they will be required to open a separate bank account.
A key aspect of the legislation is that the tax service will now be allowed to obtain information from banks about all transactions on the current accounts of such sellers, regardless of the transaction amount.
It’s worth noting that the opposition criticized the bill immediately after its draft was introduced. However, for the changes to take effect, the law must still pass through parliamentary approval.
