European leaders refused to go to Kyiv on May 9 – Politico
29.04.2025 - 15:27The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has ruled that former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko does not have an impeccable business reputation, citing sanctions imposed against him in February by the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC).
The decision was made by the NBU’s Committee on Supervision and Regulation of Banking Activities.
Poroshenko is the majority owner of the International Investment Bank, holding 65% of its shares. The NBU reminded that, under Ukrainian law, individuals who hold a significant stake in a bank must have an impeccable business reputation.
The NBU also announced its intention to file a complaint with law enforcement authorities, claiming that several members of parliament from Poroshenko’s European Solidarity party tried to interfere in the bank’s oversight activities by demanding access to the committee meeting. The MPs were previously informed that the meeting would take place online.
