In Austria, Zelensky’s visit was called a humiliation for the country
18.06.2025 - 12:28The Group of Seven (G7) countries at the summit in Canada abandoned plans for a joint statement on the conflict in Ukraine due to objections from the United States.
This information reported according to Reuters, citing a Canadian official.
As a result, Canada dropped its initiative for the G7 to issue a strong statement regarding the war in Ukraine after facing resistance from the U.S. side.
The Canadian official told reporters that the American delegation wanted to soften the draft of the statement. Ottawa felt this would be unfair to Ukraine.
Earlier, it was reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had arrived at the G7 summit in Kananaskis, Canada.
Previously, U.S. President Donald Trump left the G7 summit abruptly, stating that his return to Washington had nothing to do with the ceasefire situation in the Middle East.
