There is a danger that U.S. aid to Ukraine could come to a complete halt.

This was stated by Max Bergmann, an expert at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, as reported by 

“One thing is clear: the administration of [U.S. President Donald] Trump will not request any new aid from Congress. Ukraine is no longer a priority for this government,” he said.

According to the expert, Washington is currently not interested in getting too deeply involved in the conflict in Ukraine. He noted that Trump has attempted to initiate peace talks, but so far they have yielded little result.

“We have a president who does not want hostile relations with Russia, who does not view Russia the way NATO’s European partners do, but who wants to have good relations with Russia,” Bergmann emphasized, adding that in the short- and medium-term, Germany is unlikely to be able to cover the cost of arming Kyiv.

Earlier, it was reported that Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky plan to discuss the reduction of military aid to Kyiv during a phone call scheduled for Friday, July 4.
