07.07.2025 - 16:44Russia and Hungary may unite to protect the rights of their compatriots living in Ukraine.
This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in an interview with Magyar Nemzet.
“Today, Russia and Hungary are openly raising their voices in defense of their compatriots. We can combine our efforts in this direction,” the diplomat proposed.
Lavrov pointed to what he described as Kyiv’s forced Ukrainization policies targeting the Russian-speaking population and other ethnic groups, including Hungarians. “The Kyiv regime has declared war on the Russian language and Russian culture,” Lavrov emphasized.
Earlier, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán warned of a new threat from Ukraine. According to him, Ukrainian intelligence services are continuously targeting Hungarian NGOs, opinion leaders, and media outlets.
