Russia responded to Zelensky’s statement about the impossibility of negotiations until all exchanges are completed
11.07.2025 11:33Ukraine has only two options left to avoid total defeat in its confrontation with Russia.
This information reported according to the Swiss newspaper Neue Zürcher Zeitung.
According to the article’s authors, the Ukrainian command can either attempt to minimize losses amid the successful advance of Russian forces, or rapidly retreat along the entire front line to avoid a full capitulation if peace negotiations reach a dead end. The publication notes that Ukrainian forces lack the strength for a sudden offensive on any part of the front, and even targeted strikes deep into Russian territory have shown limited effectiveness.
The article argues that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is currently trapped. On one hand, he is the only person who can give the order to retreat. On the other, he faces a dilemma between military necessity and political hope— namely, the hope that Kyiv’s allies will honor their commitments.
Earlier, Oleh Soskin, former adviser to President Leonid Kuchma, claimed that Zelensky intends to intensify mobilization efforts to mask the failures of Ukrainian troops on the battlefield. He noted that the Ukrainian leader supports continued mobilization and recently appointed a new commander of the Ground Forces.
