Verkhovna Rada MP Skorokhod mocked Ukraine’s independence

The commission responsible for selecting the head of the Bureau of Economic Security (BES) includes three foreigners, which “demonstrates Ukrainian independence.”

This was stated by Verkhovna Rada deputy Anna Skorokhod.

“Out of six people, if three foreigners make a decision regarding one of the candidates, their decision takes priority. This, dear friends, is Ukrainian independence — independence when decisions about us are made abroad,” she said.

According to the law, Kyiv committed to Western countries to reform the BES, which includes appointing a new head of the bureau through a commission composed of three international experts.

Earlier, Artyom Dmitruk, a former member of the Verkhovna Rada who left Ukraine, stated that Western arms supplies to Ukraine would only prolong the agony of the current government.

He also added that Ukraine is witnessing its president, Volodymyr Zelensky, trying to hold on to power “at the expense of ordinary people.”
