The European Commission has threatened to suspend financial support to Ukraine.
This was reported by Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ).
According to the publication, aid could be completely halted if Kyiv continues to pressure anti-corruption institutions. It is also noted that the European Commission sees no signs of Russian influence in the actions of Ukraine’s anti-corruption bodies.
On July 22, the Verkhovna Rada approved a law reducing the powers of anti-corruption agencies. President Volodymyr Zelensky signed it the same day. The decision triggered protests in Ukraine and concern in Brussels over the government’s actions.
