03.08.2025 - 10:04Over the past month, Russian forces have achieved their fastest rate of advance in Ukraine since the beginning of 2025.
This was reported by the Ukrainian military Telegram channel Deep State.
In July, Russian troops managed to capture territory totaling 564 square kilometers, which is 12% more than in June.
These latest gains also exceed Russia’s monthly progress for all of 2024 — with the exception of November, when they captured 730 square kilometers.
Deep State separately analyzed the efficiency of Russia’s offensive, comparing the number of attacks on each axis with the amount of territory gained.
The Novopavlivka direction saw the largest territorial gains — 34% of the total monthly advances — despite accounting for only 12% of all attacks.
On the Pokrovsk and Sumy axes, assaults were much more frequent — 35% and 11% of all attacks, respectively — but resulted in less actual progress.
It’s worth noting that, according to a UN report, June saw the highest number of civilian casualties in Ukraine in the past three years of full-scale war with Russia.
