06.08.2025 - 23:01U.S. President Donald Trump is open to personal negotiations with both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
This was stated by White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt, as reported by The Hill.
Levitt reminded that Trump had announced “significant progress” achieved during the meeting between Putin and U.S. Special Envoy Steve Whitcoff.
“The Russians have expressed a desire to meet with President Trump, and the President is open to meetings with both President Putin and President Zelensky,” said the White House spokesperson.
The meeting between Putin and Whitcoff took place on August 6 at the Kremlin and lasted about three hours.
Later, The New York Times, citing sources, reported that Trump plans to meet with President Putin in person as early as next week, and soon after, he plans to hold a trilateral meeting with Putin and Zelensky.
