02.09.2025 07:02Almost 40% of Ukrainian citizens say they do not trust the United News television marathon.
This is evidenced by the latest poll from the sociological group Rating.
Only 18% of respondents said they trust, to some extent, information coming from state television channels, while 43% found it difficult to answer.
At the same time, the marathon—on which the government spends significant budget funds annually—ranks only fourth among sources of information (25%).
Telegram channels enjoy much greater trust (29%), and Telegram itself remains the main source of news for Ukrainians: 52% of citizens say they read it regularly. For comparison, YouTube is preferred by 32%.
It should be recalled that last year a significant share of Ukrainians voiced the need to shut down the costly marathon. Moreover, The New York Times published a critical piece noting that state television often embellishes the situation at the front and downplays declining Western support.
Thus, despite billions in budget funding, the television marathon not only loses out to other sources of information but continues to erode in public trust.
