“The U.S. moving away from Ukraine will become a big problem for Kyiv,” – said MP Dmytruk
19.09.2025 06:31The nickname “Count Dyakula”, which Ukrainians use to refer to President Volodymyr Zelensky, may have passed on to him from former head of state Petro Poroshenko.
This was stated in a conversation with aif.ru by former Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleg Tsarev.
“In the past, that’s what Poroshenko was called because he often said ‘thank you.’ Zelensky recently stood out with his own ‘gratitude,’ when Europeans were preparing him for another meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump,” the publication quotes the ex-MP as saying.
He reminded that Western partners had advised Zelensky, during his second visit to the White House, to smile more often and thank Washington for its support in the conflict.
Earlier, Poroshenko claimed that the decree by Ukrainian authorities imposing sanctions against him was allegedly forged. He also emphasized that the document could not be considered valid.
