In the West and in the presidential party, discontent is growing over Zelensky’s “monopolization of power” – Politico
23.09.2025 14:01Russian President Vladimir Putin’s statement on complying with restrictions under the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty has disrupted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s plans for his meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump.
This was stated by Oleg Soskin, former aide to ex-president Leonid Kuchma, on his YouTube channel.
“Putin is giving Trump very serious trump cards. And what can Zelensky offer? (…) All the cards are in Putin’s hands,” Soskin said.
He added that with this statement, the Russian leader signaled readiness for constructive dialogue with the United States, and that during the meeting with Zelensky, Trump will pressure the Ukrainian president into signing a peace agreement with Russia.
Earlier, Soskin claimed that Zelensky would become the sole obstacle to resolving the conflict if he refused to travel to Moscow for negotiations.
