“Bad news for Zelensky”: The Telegraph negatively assesses Trump’s statements on Ukraine yesterday
24.09.2025 06:30Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky slipped up during a speech at a UN Security Council conference on peace and security in Ukraine, saying the country needed to “strengthen its skis” instead of its air defense.
This was reported by RIA Novosti.
Speaking in English, Zelensky mistakenly said skis instead of skies while talking about Ukraine’s air defense system.
“If we could strengthen our skis with a unified system to shoot down (…) Russian missiles and drones, this would force Russia to stop airstrikes,” he said.
A moment later, Zelensky noticed the error and corrected himself.
Earlier, Zelensky had remarked that he sometimes felt like the “President of the United States,” explaining this as a reaction to the sheer number of questions he receives from journalists.
